Project Spotlight
Ecos Workspaces
Hannover Nord
Lighting upgrade. Five months of measured data.
THE PROJECT
January 2026.
Corridor, restrooms, and several offices at Ecos Workspaces Hannover Nord received daylight sensors and DALI-2 dimming controls.

Output was capped at 80% from the start.
LED luminaires lose brightness gradually over time. An 80% starting point preserves headroom for adjustment as the fixtures age, keeping illuminance stable across their full service life.

MEASUREMENT

Measurement period: January 21 – June 21, 2026

Each room's actual consumption was compared against the calculated baseline: the same hours of operation at a fixed 80% output, without sensor control.

Office

Restroom

RESULTS

Office

333 h · 29.4 kWh used
Baseline: 79.1 kWh
−63% energy saved
vs. the same hours at fixed 80% output, no sensor

Illuminance within standard throughout

Restroom

357 h · 11.4 kWh used
Baseline: 17.1 kWh
−33% energy saved
vs. the same hours at fixed 80% output, no sensor

Illuminance within standard throughout

SEE IT IN ACTION
Recorded on-site at Ecos Workspaces Hannover Nord.
Remote control via the Awalux interface: lights switch on and off instantly from the app.
Presence detection in the corridor: as a person walks through, lighting activates zone by zone — visible in real time on the tablet.
Zone-by-zone control of the corridor: each section switches on independently, shown simultaneously in the app and on-site.
